Why “Finch?”
Naming a company can be a grind. After wasting away on the online name generator sites, only to produce things like (I’m not making this up) - STARTNER, ADVIST, and LEADVISE - I needed a different direction. The help I needed came from one of my daughters. Knowing how much I love a good story, she suggested taking a name from one of my favorite novels. Staring on the shelf at my old paperbacks, it finally hit me. Atticus and Scout Finch from “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Not only were they a heartwarming Dad and daughter duo, but they were the perfect symbols of leadership fueled by the power of courage and compassion. Those two values drive our client relationships at Finch.
So, with that, the Finch bird became our name and symbol. Finches are known for their sociability, curiosity, exploration, adaptability and receptivity. These, too, are qualities we want in our consulting team.
At Finch, we want to help leaders and teams soar. We believe in the imperfect condition of humanity as common to man. We believe in cultivating relationships, not transactions. We believe in the “servant leader” model of leadership, and practicing it while we instill it in our client engagements.
Please consider taking advantage of a free consultation if you think Finch might be right for you or your organization.
